Day off tomorrow!
Mar. 14th, 2005 11:20 pmI'm very happy as I have a day off work tomorrow - always make life seem better. I'm heading up to the Ideal Home Exhibition at Earl's Court tomorrow with my parents - should be a fun day out (at least I'm not in the office!)
It never ceases to amaze me exactly how chaotic offices can be. And it seems the bigger the company, the more chaos ensues. I'm currently temping at a rather large multinational company (or at least a division of it). It's amazing exactly how much of a mess the IT and Finance departments there are. IT makes changes to critical systems right at month end or it takes them forever to figure out what's causing a problem with another system (ah, the joys of out-sourcing). Finance can't keep track of its vendor invoices and continually have vendors on the phone complaining about non-payment. Seems a totally nutty way to run a business but is, apparently, fairly normal. Anyway, I get to be out of there for a day so that'll be a nice break.
