Interviews! And other stuff
Mar. 16th, 2005 11:26 pmWell, I had a telephone interview today with an agency representing Network Rail (for any Yanks, that's the company that are responsible for the railway tracks here in the UK). It sounds like an interesting job - I'm just not sure I'd really want to work for that particular company.
On a completely different topic - why do parents seem to specialise in causing as much irritation and pain to their kids as possible? I called my mother last night to let her know about the interview today ('cause otherwise I get told off for "not keeping her informed" about my life) and mentioned I went to the Ideal Home Exhibition with my dad and stepmum and got the response of "Some people have such a nice life" in a really sarcastic tone. It's a bit much considering that my life's not exactly what I'd like it to be - I have no real job and I'm back living with my parents. This is not quite where I thought I'd be at 28. But hey, that's my mum - definitely a "the grass is always greener" type.
